As part of their efforts to give back to the community, the Ainsworth FFA Chapter helped with the Blood Drive on Tuesday, February 2nd at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ainsworth. The students called donors ahead of time to get all available slots filled up prior to the event. During the event, the students signed in each member as they showed up for their appointments. During this event, they were able to collect a total of 53 pints of blood from 47 donors. Helping with the drive were (left to right): Shaley Starkey, Libby Smith and Airyan Goochey. During the Elk’s Corn Maze in October, the FFA students were on hand to sell pumpkins that could be turned into Jack-O-Lanterns or pie. Lauren Ortner and Shelly Saner took turns playing the pumpkin tic-tac-toe. Ainsworth FFA members Libby Wilkins and Libby Smith help sort out the fruit they sold during their annual Fruit Sale last winter. Funds they raise from this event help them with expenses throughout the year such as entry fees for contests, convention registration and workshops. FFA members help serve meals during the annual Brown County Fair and Rodeo. Helping out were Cailin Orton and Colten Orton.

During a normal year without COVID-19, the Ainsworth FFA Chapter hosts a pancake feed for the community during FFA Week, provides a petting zoo for the elementary students in April and organizes a Community Betterment Day in May where they do projects around the community.
