Ainsworth Lions Club Holds Regular Monthly Meeting

The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on February 15, 2021 at Canyon Creek and on Zoom. Lions Club President Vance Heyer called the meeting to order, with seven members present. Lion President Heyer led the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Dave Spann gave the prayer. Minutes of the October 20, 2020 meeting were approved. The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved.

Old Business included: Report on correspondence; District 38-I raffle donation; Corporate biannual fee was paid; Lion of the Year Award has been postponed until next month; and recognition to Lion Spann for receiving the Gold Centennial award, Lion Fuchs for sponsoring two new members, and Lion Connie Lentz for her sponsorship of two new members.

New business included:

• Zoom – if anyone is interested in learning how to log on with Zoom, please contact Lion Bejot and set up a time for a tutorial.

• Lion Heyer received the Membership Satisfaction Award for the club for maintaining enrollment.

• Eye Screening has been set up for the 2021-22 School Year through ESU 17 and Lion Ehlers.

• Lion Fairhead will be taking over the Chair of the All-Sports Tailgate party, scheduled for April 20, 2021.

• “Adopt a Highway” event will be scheduled as the weather allows.

• Plans are being made to go ahead with the 4th grade Forester Project.

Upcoming activities/meeting will be: District 38-I Mid-Winter Conference will be held March 5th - 6th in Broken Bow. There will be a Zoom option for March 6th, time TBD.

The next Lions Club meeting will be held at 12:00 noon at Canyon Creek and Zoom on Monday, March 15, 2021.
