Why FFA?

By the time I was six, I was sitting in the gymnasium watching my siblings at the annual FFA banquet. Coming from a long line of FFA members, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the organization that generations of Wilkins’ had taken part in.

What I didn’t know when I joined was how much of an impact it would have on me. I’d watched the FFA organization shape my siblings; however, I’d had far fewer experiences with FFA. Throughout the past several years FFA has been an extracurricular activity that has helped mold me into who I am today.

I’ve become passionate about agriculture and have learned leadership, dedication, and grit through my association with FFA. I’ve been involved in dozens of activities during my high school career and have learned a great deal from them all; however, FFA has been the activity in which my time has been most well-spent. Whether participating in leadership development events, career development events, or my supervised agricultural experience, I’ve become a better leader, team member, employee, and entrepreneur.

Furthermore, it has helped to improve hundreds of Ainsworth students who have immersed themselves in the association. Whether those FFA members have gone into the agricultural field or not, I can assure you that they are better off in future endeavors because of this exceptional organization.
